RIDE AND RAISE FUNDS FOR TRANSPLANT RESEARCH
Ride and raise funds for life-saving transplant research
The 2025 edition of the Tour de Brisbane is your chance to ride on closed city streets and make a difference by raising vital funds for life-saving transplant research.
2025 marks the fourth year that The Common Good is a proud partner of the Tour de Brisbane, and to this day, riders continue to raise money for transplant research and related conditions such as heart disease and ICU care.
Aaron Lee rode the 2024 Tour de Brisbane
Last year you’ll remember riding alongside Aaron Lee, a Perth father and heart transplant recipient who travelled across the country with his father, Ian, to participate in the event. This was such an incredible achievement for Aaron, having put it on his bucket list shortly after his transplant surgery about three years ago.
In an incredible effort, the now 30-year-old rode the 110km course in 3 and a half hours.
Your fundraising efforts in this year’s Tour de Brisbane will help to support life-saving transplant research, providing hope for individuals like Aaron.
Research saves lives
We are proud to be the official charity partner of the Tour de Brisbane event. In 2025 we need to raise $50,000 to support life-saving research to help those impacted by transplant, and transplant related conditions. Whether you’re jumping in the saddle yourself, or making a donation to a mate – your fundraising WILL make a difference in the lives of others.
Today's research leads to tomorrow's treatments
The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation, through The Common Good, is proud to support Australia’s leading heart and lung hospital – The Prince Charles Hospital.
This hospital is a hub for a range of specialised state-wide services, including heart and lung transplantation and transplant-related conditions.
Organ transplantation has revolutionised modern medicine, offering hope and a second chance at life to countless individuals.
However, despite remarkable progress, significant challenges remain. From increasing the number of viable organs available to reducing transplant rejection and the risk of post-transplant complications, research is at the centre of it all.
I often find myself looking up to the clouds, thinking about how thankful I am to receive this gift from a stranger and for their family for making that momentous decision.
– Aaron Lee, heart transplant recipient
