Together, we can help cure homesickness

Just in time for Xmas! Assembly Label launches new limited-edition t-shirt to donate 100% of sales to Curing Homesickness

For the second consecutive year, Australian lifestyle brand Assembly Label has teamed up with Curing Homesickness to help get kids home from hospital sooner with the launch of a limited-edition range of t-shirts. Available instore and online from 23 November, 100% of the sales of these special tees for children, women and men will be donated to Curing Homesickness, helping kids at The Prince Charles Hospital get home sooner.

Nicola Stokes, CEO of Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation said: “We are delighted Assembly Label are continuing their generous support of Curing Homesickness to help children in hospital get home sooner, especially during this special time of year. Assembly Label’s latest limited-edition tee is the perfect gift for Christmas as it will look good and do good at the same time!”

Australian children and young people account for almost 1 million hospital admissions each year, and 50% of kids in hospital suffer so badly from homesickness while in hospital it affects their mental health and can impact their physical recovery too.

Studies show that severe homesickness symptoms worsen in children the longer they are away from home and can lead to anxiety and coping issues, and feelings of helplessness.

The Curing Homesickness initiative was launched to address this important issue head-on, by raising funds to invest in new research, equipment and care that will help kids get home from hospital sooner.

“There’s a very real connection with the initiative,” said Damien Horan, Co-Founder, Assembly Label. “As a parent, the health and care of your children is of utmost importance. As an organisation, we are humbled to support Curing Homesickness with its effort to help children in hospital across the country.”

Assembly Label limited-edition Curing Homesickness t-shirts will be available instore and online from 23 November until stock runs out. Kids tees will retail for $30 and men’s and women’s tees for $50.
