Ekka favourite available at COVID vaccine hub

Brisbane residents can contribute to the long-term health of the country in two ways when they get their COVID vaccines at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

More than 1,000 people a day are being vaccinated and Queensland Health predicts the daily figure will grow to 3,000 people by Saturday.

They can also help The Common Good fund important medical research, the medical research charity is on site tempting people with its iconic Ekka Strawberry Sundaes.

“Our sundaes are incredibly popular and while it was a blow when the Ekka was cancelled, it has given us a chance to be creative,” CEO Michael Hornby said.

“The sundaes are a key part of our fundraising to support important medical research.  If you’re heading to the convention centre, or if you live or work nearby, come and grab a sundae and say hi to our team.”

The sundaes are available for $5.50 each at the stall on the corner of Melbourne and Merivale Streets. The stall is open from 8:30am to 6:30pm until Sunday September 12, 2021.
