About The Common Good
About The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation
The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation through it’s fundraising initiative, The Common Good, is dedicated to helping people live healthier for longer by supporting groundbreaking medical research, equipment, and patient care.
Established in 1986, we have been a key partner to The Prince Charles Hospital, providing support to one of Australia’s leading cardiology hospitals, and home to Queensland’s second busiest Emergency Departments. In 2026, we will proudly celebrate 40 years of championing life-saving research, innovative clinical and research equipment, and exceptional patient care programs.
In 2024, The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation was named the 2024 QLD Philanthropic Foundation of the Year by Queensland Gives, a recognition only made possible by our passionate community of donors and supporters.
Our Research Focus: We invest in research aimed at solving the most urgent health challenges, including heart disease, lung disease, mental health, and ageing. Our partnerships with world-class clinical and allied health professionals ensure that our efforts lead to meaningful medical breakthroughs that benefit thousands of Australians.
Why Our Work Matters: Our priority research areas address health issues that affect nearly everyone, highlighting the immense and urgent need for advancements. Whether it’s a friend, a family member, or a colleague, we all know someone impacted by at least one of these conditions. Consequently, we all know someone who stands to benefit from funding research in these vital areas.
By funding research, we not only provide hope to those suffering today but also pave the way for healthier future generations. You can help make a difference by donating today.
Our mission
Our mission is to enable people to live healthier for longer by sustainably backing research and hospital innovation projects to their completion.
In addition to advancing research into heart disease, lung disease, mental health and ageing, we are also proud to provide local hospital support to both The Prince Charles Hospital, Australia’s largest cardiothoracic hospital, as well as Caboolture Hospital.
You can read more about our mission in our annual report and strategic plan.
Our values
We are a people-based organisation where alignment with our core values is essential.
Our values shape our behaviours, attitudes, and decisions, and they are a source of great pride for us.
